We were tasked to create a new vision for the iconic pregame ritual of the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.  This includes a former player or a celebrity hitting their large drum to officially start the game.

 

I was the sole project architect on the job and was responsible for all drawings and renderings, as well as consultant and contractor coordination.  I attended weekly meetings with the owner to finalize and execute the design.  I made weekly site visits and administered the construction of the drum deck.
The design was influenced by the sweeping iconic aesthetic of the existing stadium, accomplished with curved metal panel sheets.  The deck was placed up high in the bowl for all to see and experience.  Behind the platform reside multiple levels of standing drink rails for a truly unique gameday experience.
