Eglise St. Etienne Located at the site of the excavation. The construction of the present church was begun about 1130 in the Romanesque style.  The church became a priory of the abbey  Herivaux in 1260.  The portal and the transept of the 13th century date from this period, a bay Gothic in arc broken is also clearly visible from the street. The transept is unique in that it consists of very low slope roofs, so as not to obscure the low-rise tower. The south apse also has the features of Gothic architecture.
4 key expressions were used to describe the purpose of the museum;
learn discover experience reflect
There needed to be a flow between these ideas to create a successful experience and visit.  The museum became a story, and a journey through the site, and the history of old fosses

The materiality of the museum needs to respect the historic purpose of the area.  because the site was used to produce pottery for over 700 years, using clay allows the building to relate to the history of the site.

The museum acts as one continuous flow/ one continuous story. to experience the entire history and site one must travel across the entire building.
the interior consists of a series of ramps that connect each part of the building together, creating a sense of movement and progression.
